Keep your child indoors:

All health experts agree that children should minimise or avoid all outdoor activity when air pollution levels are high.

  • Set your air-conditioner for inner circulation only and clean the filters.
  • Some families have also invested in air cleaners or purifiers.

Give your child plenty of fluids:
Getting enough fluids, whether in the form of milk, juices, water or soups will help your child’s body flush out the toxins. Here’s how to tell if your toddler is getting enough water.
Obsever your child’s eyes:
Cases of conjunctivitis and eye irritation are likely to increase during smog.
If your baby’s eyes are pink or red and it looks like a simple irritation, apply a few drops of saline solution to help relieve it.and you think it is conjunctivitis, take your child to the doctor.

Keep breastfeeding:
Breastfeeding is one of the best ways to protect your baby’s health. As long as she’s breastfeeding she’s getting your antibodies and your natural immunities.
Breastfed babies generally have milder symptoms when it comes to the common ailments such as colds and flu. You can still breastfeed even when you have a fever.
