Blackheads are tiny bumps that are formed due to the buildup of excess of sebum oil that is excreted by sebaceous glands and dead skin cells, there by leading to clogged pores. These acne-like lumps usually pops up on the nose and chin areas. For some people, blackheads also appear on chest, arms, back and shoulders. However, blackheads on nose is the most annoying part of any facial session. Remove blackheads is now a easy task.

Technically blackheads are created when a clog develops in the root of the hair follicle. Each follicle comprises of one hair along with a sebaceous gland that secretes sebum. The sebum in the form of oil helps keep the skin moisturized and soft.

And when dead skin cells and excess of oil get accumulated in the opening of the follicle, a small bump is created and is known as comedone. If the bump is covered with skin then it is known as whitehead and if it is exposed to air, the bumps become black, thereby given the name blackheads.

How to remove blackheads by using Bentonite Clay


Mix a small amount of clay with water to create a thick paste. With your fingertips apply a thin layer of paste on your face and let it stay for 10 to 25 minutes or wait until the mask gets completely dry. Now rinse it of with lukewarm water and apply your regular moisturizer.

Home Remedies for Blackheads Using Egg white

Egg white mask is one of the most effective home remedies for blackheads. It helps in tightening the pores even though for temporary period. This way it also reduces the chances of formation of blackheads in near future.

How to apply


Collect the egg white and apply it all over your face. You can place a tissue paper over the mask and press it gently. Allow the mask to dry. Apply a second layer of egg white over the tissue. Now let this second layer dry and then apply a third coating. You can feel your skin tight which is required to tighten your pores. Now remove the tissue and wash your face with tap water. Removing blackheads cannot get easier.



Mix nutmeg powder with milk / buttermilk to form a thick paste. Scrub it on your face focusing more on the areas you have blackheads. But, make sure you do it very gently, else you will be ruining your face. While nutmeg helps soak up the oil, milk and buttermilk both help in the break down of old skin and cells due to the lactic content in them. Continue this for a few minutes and rinse with warm water.

Honey Pack


We would not exactly call it a pack, but it sure is very close to a honey face pack. Take a small amount of honey on your fingers and gently apply it on your face. Make sure the face is dry before you start this procedure. The sticky nature of the honey will pull out the blackheads as you massage it over your face. Make sure you concentrate on your blackhead areas for maximum results. To add to this, another benefit of honey would be that it has anti-bacterial properties, and so, if any honey if left behind in the pores, it will not oxidize as soon as it otherwise would.

Lemon and Jojoba Oil


If you are just not able to get rid of blackheads by any other methods or home remedies, then try this method. But please make sure you do not go close to your eyes and avoid it around bruises and scratches too.

Take a new soft-bristled toothbrush and pour a few drops of lemon juice to it along with coconut or jojoba oil. Very gently scrub on the blackhead areas. Dip the brush in Hydrogen Peroxide at intervals to keep it clean. Make sure that this toothbrush is only used to remove blackheads and not anything else.
